# 14 John George Haigh

He was not typically considered as a serial killer, however, he was regarded as the most wanted man in Britain at his times. His murders were proclaimed as "sensational", he not only decomposed his victimes, but also drained them with all of blood. For that reason he was called "Vampire Killer". He was born in Stamford in 1909, his parents were developed to strong Puritan beliefs and were deeply rooted into the faith, were pronouned to be part of Plymouth Brethern. The harsh upbringing and constant discipline made him hyper-sensual, hyper-sensitive and very, very vicous and vindictive. He used to remember nothing but harm and pain. He adapted very easily, he could easily drift between two so different enviromnemts; his strict and severe parents and much easy-going shool life. He didn't mind to take part in the philosophical discouse about the God, the importance of the Bible, behind the facade of bing strong and unbroken, he was very weak, emotionally crushed, the lack of love from the side of his parents made him – directly vulnerable to commit various crimes, the psychological tests he was submitted to later on, proved, the lack of emotional bound between him and his parents made him suffer a severe breakdowns, not treated and passed unnoticed made him aggressive, frustrated, pushed him to do murders, which, indeed were very ruthless.

If he had become an actor, he would have been a brilliant one, for sure, he was very charming, he was very frindly toward the people he met and killed later on. After thhe terror of his murders, one of the police officers admitted "Hiagh was the most charming and the nicest murderer they ever met". The demenour was not the only one fearture which made him so convincing, the other one was his appearance, which was very reasuuring. None of his jobs was good enough to make him rich, to make him successful, to make him, someone. All his income was based on crimes he comitted. To make amends after repetitive chagees of the froud, he wrote an apologetic letters to his parent, ex-wife to be. No matter how much he tried it was not enough. He lost all his credibility. To change his fate he decided to go to London, he was a skillfull man, he had a flair for engineering works, proved he could do almost nathing he was asked for. He worked hard, he saved money, he wanted to go on ... and he did, indeed. For eighteen months he gradually changed his life, loved fast cars, fancy restaournats, he adjusted to a new lifestyle. The financial froud made him arrested again, this time, the sentence pronounced – four years of hard labour, the prison library he read a lot. He focused mostly on murders which described corpus delicti, "the bosy of the crime". There he found put the the murder may be literally ingenious until the corpse is identified as the victim's. He also found series of articles which described the murders with the use of sulphric acid to reduce the body of a person murdered and made it utterly unrecognizable. To make it a sludge. On a parole he commited another crime and once again was sentenced – this time 21 months. At the age of 34 he was free again, in a new scheme in his mind. He worked genuinly at the Alan Stephen's book store, it was a good job which allowed him to change his image; now with posh outfit and alike car he started being recognizable. His life was kept in secret, no one had a foggiest ides that he has been married for 10 years, yet, he has not seen his wife since then. To implement his plan he needed a work shop, he eventually found on in Glouster Road, a small basement, which fitted his needs perfectly. He practised a lot before he eventually started his devilic murders. He murdered number of people, the schemata was simple, to shot and to despose the bodies in the oil drums filled with acid. His confirmed victims were; McSwan Family (William Donald McSwan; Donald and Emily McSwan) 1945; Henderson Family (Archibald and Rosalie Henderson) 1948; Henrietta Helen Olive Robarts Durand-Deacon, 1949.

Haigh was hanged in 1949 by executioneer Albert Pierrepoint.

Deaths from Firearms

The correct handling of a death from gunshot wounds begins at the scene. Here valuable evidence on the body can be lost or altered and bogus evidence may be inadvertently introduced through mishandling of the body. Before a body is touched, its position and appearance should be documented photographically and diagrammatically. The most important rule at the scene is to handle the body as little as possible so as not to dislodge trace evidence that may be clinging to garments or to the body surface. Hands should never be pried open, and fingerprints should never be taken at the scene. Fingerprint ink can either mimic or obscure powder soot as well as introducing contaminating materials that may render subsequent examination of the hands for primer residues of questionable validity. Manipulation of the hands is of even greater potential danger if it is done by a police officer who, theoretically, can transfer primer residues from his hands to those of the deceased....

#4 A Peculiar Character of Sir Edmund Berry Godfrey

His mysterious death was supposed to be silent and left behind, in contrary, it caused mayhem and upheavals shortly after it occurred. His noble background opened him the gate to British Parliament, He was very-well educated, he attended to Westminster School, graduated Christ Church, Oxford. In September 1666 he received a knighthood. Despite of being Protestant he had a significant number of his Catholic counterparts, including the Duke of York, the future king James II. Unfortunately not every alley he made was a good one, he was pronounced a member of so-called ‘Peyton Gang’ which was closely associated with Green Ribbon Club. The Club’s members wanted to force the king Charles II to turn to Catholicism and abandon Protestantism. Efforts were futile. The plot was simple, meant to shake off the kingdom and set up the republic, what could be simpler?  - Failure, perhaps. Richard Cromwell unsuccessfully prepared the details. He was crushed by the gove...
