#16 Guilty!

The history of the Balkans has always been filled with bloody conflicts, underpinned among all by incomprehensive notions, yet, despite it, each of them changed the shape of Europe, European thinking and the way the Western Europe perceived its Eastern counterpart. The region was born throughout the wars and throughout the uneasy times, the oppression started aggression, the vicious circle.   ''(...) in December 1991 Serbs voted against Bosnia's seceding from Yugoslavia in a referendum largely boycotted by Muslims and Croats.  Capitalizing on the results of the referendum, Serb nationalist politicians declared their own state in Bosnia, the Republika Srbska (...)''   Centuries layered upon, till the end of the game. Hence, there was no end, at all.   ''(...) Before the war, no place on earth  made her feel safer than Srebrenica.   Camila's father had been a locksmith and her mother a housewife. After high school, she had journeye...

# 14 John George Haigh

He was not typically considered as a serial killer, however, he was regarded as the most wanted man in Britain at his times. His murders were proclaimed as "sensational", he not only decomposed his victimes, but also drained them with all of blood. For that reason he was called "Vampire Killer". He was born in Stamford in 1909, his parents were developed to strong Puritan beliefs and were deeply rooted into the faith, were pronouned to be part of Plymouth Brethern. The harsh upbringing and constant discipline made him hyper-sensual, hyper-sensitive and very, very vicous and vindictive. He used to remember nothing but harm and pain. He adapted very easily, he could easily drift between two so different enviromnemts; his strict and severe parents and much easy-going shool life. He didn't mind to take part in the philosophical discouse about the God, the importance of the Bible, behind the facade of bing strong and unbroken, he was very weak, emotio...

#13 Sperm Whales

The sperm whales are often found stranded on shore. The reason why they push themselves onto the beach is still unknow, the presumptions var y , most possibly, it is an illness, perhaps, some kind of a disease, which directs them to the land, where they are marooned and die. This case was not any other than that, five beached sperm whales had died overnight on the shore of the Island of Texel. The whales were very dangrously close to the shore, the ditsnce was trecherous and became a lethal trap for the mammals. As scientists foresaw it was almost impossible to get them back onto the open ocean. Some of them which had been turned back, spinned aroung and returned onto the very shallow water, the shore itself. The reason of such behaviour is still a puzzle to be solved. ''We wish it could last longer'' – one of the authorities said, however, the Netherlands do have a protocol, which gives 12 hours to rescue the mammals, if it doesn't hap...
